Learning Resources Centre

The School's new facilities were opened on 22 November by Phil Redmond, Chairman of Mersey Television Company and Executive Producer of Hollyoaks and Brookside, and creator of Grange Hill. In a thought provoking speech, he revealed that he had himself left school with four O levels and one A, and had then worked his way through university as a mature student, before deciding he wanted to be a teacher.

He was impressed by the new facilities, partly because they brought excitement to learning, and partly that they showed that the school was as excited as he is by the challenge of new technologies and the opportunities they give to individuals -- and to communities -- to progress in different directions.

Mr Redmond clearly believes, as we do at QKS, that this movement away from the traditional separation of school and community and towards an all-inclusive approach has enormous benefits for us all.
